At the Federation of Data and Technology Council (FEDTC), we are proud to announce a transformative research-led initiative by our founder, Osasenaga Usoh, focused on developing an AI-powered chatbot built specifically for the education sector in Nigeria.
Over the next 2–3 years, this tool will be designed to deliver personalized learning support using machine learning and natural language processing.
The chatbot will assist students with curriculum-aligned content, answer questions in real-time, and help educators identify learning gaps.
The initiative follows a clear, phased roadmap:
• Phase 1: for data collection,
• Phase 2: Train models,
• Phase 3: Deployment. But we are not stopping at just a tool.
FEDTC will also lead a nationwide university AI tour, designed to train students and faculty on responsible AI development. Through hands-on workshops and seminars, we aim to equip Nigeria’s next generation of innovators with the tools to build homegrown solutions—not just consume them. “This isn’t just about one chatbot, It’s about building capacity so that innovation becomes homegrown and sustainable This initiative is not theoretical—it is underway.
